A chap I know in London who is 6' 8" tall is considering looking for a Jupiter! Will he fit in? He was OK in a Javelin in his student days!!

Which cars gone and which remain?
There's an interesting article in this month's Tyres and Accessories (Trade publication-don't look in WH Smiths!) which gives a list of the most "disappeared" family cars-Austin Allegro coming out tops with only 291 remaining of the 640,000 units produced. There's also a list of the best s...

Fan Blade Turning freely on shaft?
Whilst searching for an oil cooler in which to affix a (currently!) spare sensor probe my mehcanic friend was somewhat concerned to find the radiator fan turning quite freely on it's drive shaft. (engine not running of course.)
Is he right to be concerned?
Cheers

Re: Temperature Sensor Location?
Well, congrats guys-there most definitely is a working sensor connected to the centre top at the back of the radiator-and if Scott managed to see that in the posted photo then all I can say is that his local optician ain't going to be getting any business from Mr Renner any time soon! However, with ...

Temperature Sensor Location?
My local garageman and self admit to being at least a tad embarrassed that we have only just noticed that the fairly large brass Temperature Sensor as in the photo below is not fixed in any way, rather it dangles thro the large hole in the radiator mounting bracket and presumably makes intermittent ...

Door lock-update May 13-still work to do!!
Well folks, 2 years on I thought The problem was finally cracked as Scott Renner has kindly made for me the square bar complete with hexagonal rod that Leo pointed out was so clearly missing-see photo below:- http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac216/keithspacey/001-1.jpg This is a nice fit in the re...

Re: Footman James
I hang my head in shame as I type having become another to desert FJ-in my case in favour of Adrian Flux! However, the extra £80+ which remains in my bank account (a saving of over 55% on the FJ renewal) is already starting to mitigate the guilt of deserting the JCC prefered insurer! The Flux quote ...

Champion 7 spark plugs X4.
A chap I work with has the above set of plugs "new and unused" which he tells me may be suitable for a pre war Jowett?
He's looking for £30 delivered UK which he says is very reasonable-or offer if you disagree!
Cheers

Re: FJ Renewal Increase + Jupiter Horn!
Jack-The horn does still work as it should when the push is deployed. Leo-many thanks for your link. I may well revert for more details of your fix if the optimism being shown by my local garage ("that will be something or nothing") who have the car for MOTing proves fruitless-I didn't hav...

Re: Footman James Renewal Increase?
HI Amy, The Jupe started 2nd push after a 7 month lay up today (once battery had been recharged) and she's booked in for MOT tomorrow. However, lo and behold with even the slightest turn of the steering wheel to the right the horn is now sounding-loud and clear-I believe you know all about this issu...

Re: Footman James Renewal Increase?
Tried to get hold of Malcolm Oliver (as suggested by Jack) but the mobile number in the latest Jowetteer no longer connects. Phoned Lancaster Insurance who quoted £206.55 for the Jupiter ( +4.8% cf last year) Footman James were able to "match" without too much argument. Likewise on my FTO ...

FJ Renewal Increase + Jupiter Horn!
Just had my Renewal notice thro from FJ for the Jupe and disappointingly it's gone up 21.5% from £197 to £239.40! Is such an increase "the going rate" or will they back off some if I argue the point? Keith PS I also have a Mitsubishi FTO insured with FJ and here the increase is just under ...
