The book is new to me, so I will jot down the details and try and get a copy myself.
I love old British tractors and old British cars so this book appeals to me!

Paint colours
It has probably asked 100 times before, but does anyone have a list of the paint colours used on Javelin ? I have just seen a picture of white (cream) coloured Jupiter which looks magnificent! I had never seen that colour before. Were the same colours used on the Jupiter also used on the Javelin? We...

Re: Why Bradford by Jowett . Jowett Bradford
I assume all Jowett products came from the same factory. Did the Bradford van appear in the same showrooms as Javelin and the Jupiter? A Ford Transit van and a Ford Mustang are both Fords but utterly different. Regarding the Bedford and the Vauxhall vehicles, I assume that, in Britain, the Bedfords ...

Re: A racing Bradford
Motorkhana - basically a test of driving skills rather than speed. Fastest time over a narrow tricky course without hitting any flags. Points are deducted for hitting flags and you are disqualified if you take shortcuts. Years ago I won a Motorkhana prize in a car club driving a tiny twin cylinder H...

Re: The Fate of the CD Bradfords
I know of one CD in the UK, unrestored, and also there are a few modifications that were perhaps destined for the CD on the Javelin that the Works Experimental Department were playing with, codenamed "Project B" by us and more detail on the Javelin forum. The seats particularly seem to be ...

Re: Tasmanian answer to dust and heat.
I have slowly gone through all your "Tassie" photos. What a great collection! I hope the Javelin body shell (photo #371) is saved from the elements, vandals and scrap metal dealers. I have yet to visit Tasmania, although I only live a short aeroplane ride across the water in Victoria on th...

Sounds interesting!Andy Stevens wrote:Probably a bit of a long shot, but has anyone got one for sale, or know the whereabouts of one for sale?? Andy
What is a "Jowett Saw Bench"?
A saw bench powered a Jowett (stationary) engine?
A whole saw bench built by Jowett?

Re: Bradford original colours
Thanks for the link to the paint supplier.
There is a trend amongst restorers of commercial vehicles to "dolled up" original vehicles with modern high gloss paint and modern colour schemes.
It is good to find a list of original colours still available to help restorers.
OzzyMike.

Bradford original colours
A question that has probably been asked before. What colours were the Bradford vans painted when they left the factory? Are the original Jowett colours still available? Did Jowett ever sell their vans in a cheaper "undercoat" option, for the customer to apply their own paint scheme? Regard...

Re: Firing order
I remember, as a schoolboy in the 1970s, seeing a Javelin drive past the school gates.
I instantly knew what I was looking at as I recognized the unusual exhaust note!

Firing order
An interesting question regarding the Jowett Flat Four Engine spark-plug firing order. I have the firing order listed as 1-4-2-3 An internet search regarding firing orders for flat four engines lists 1-3-2-4 for the Subaru and 1-4-3-2 for the Volkswagen. Is !-4-2-3 correct for a Javelin or Jupiter? ...

Bradford diesel powered van
Dear all, I am trying to find information on Bradford vans repowered by diesel engines. I have a poor quality photo of a Jowett Eight chassis, taken in Australia, fitted with a "Victor" diesel engine. Google search tells me about the "Victor" brand as being a British manufacturer...
