Re: JOWETTS FOR SALE - OCTOBER 2012

SOLD OK, here's the ad for my Jupiter, which will hopefully appear in the next issue of the Joweteer: 1953 Jupiter E3/SA/934/R registration KWS 137 (as featured on the October 2012 Joweteer front cover). Green, with red leather interior and black hood, I believe that this was the penultimate Mark 1...

Re: Full beam headlights but no dipped beam

Fixed!

The Holden switch is a good copy of the Lucas original. The beams look to be behaving themselves now, which is good news, as i'm planning to use the car this week to travel to and from Telford, where I'm working this week (200 mile round trip)

Re: Full beam headlights but no dipped beam

Thanks for the replies. I inspected all the appropriate wiringn & connections: all good I removed the dipper switch and wired up in the configurations suggested by the wiring diagram to mimic dipped beam/full beam usage, results as follows: Blue wire(1) plus Blue & Red wire(2): both bulbs, b...

Re: Survival rate

There's a website where you can discover how many there are left of a particular car make/model. It's based on DVLA information, but alas Jowetts don't show up. I contacted the website owner, and he suggested that this was due to an anomoly in the way historic vehicle information is stored. www.howm...

Full beam headlights but no dipped beam

I won't have the opportunity to investigate this until the weekend, and so in the meantime I thought I would pick the collective JT brain. Ive noticed that on rotating the dashboard switch, the sidelights work, but the dipped beam headlights don't. Upon depressing the floor dipper switch, however, b...

Have you retained positive earth? If so, is this mod simply a case of switching the wires around on the cigar lighter socket?

oh dear valve seats have come adrift again :-( [in fact this is the third time, there was an unreported occurrence 1500 miles ago ...] my mechanic is now advising a replacement cylinder head rather than repair. I haven't seen the offending items, so can't comment. So, as per previously (and before I...

Hi Alastair, was good to meet you ..... and I've decided that I will go for a Moto-Lita. Please could you confirm the wheel size you use?

By the way, my mind is still boggling at the thought of what 1300 tons of potatoes must look like

I had to take e3sa934 out to get MOT'd last Monday, through the falling snow and down winding lanes to the west of Sheffield which were coated in compacted snow :-( luckily, I got a PASS (warning on the track rod ends though). The most difficult bit of the journey was getting the car up the slope le...
