Re: STEERING LINK
The engine mounts look too thick to me. They are not JCS parts. I am aware of a spurious mounting (possibly part number 2243 - application unknown) that fits the Javelin/Jupiter mountings but is too thick. JCS has a significant quantity of "correct" ones, and has sold lots of them without ...

Re: Jupiter restorations.
The mis-ship mounts look correct to me. The engine mounting is a Javelin one.

Re: Jupiter restorations.
Pretty certain JCS has a few late housings. I was unaware of the bolt difference. Many thanks for that

Re: Oil Leak at Fuel Pump
There is an oil return hole below the push rod. This must not be covered by the gasket or blocked with gunge or sealant. Sorry I don’t have an accessible bare crankcase to photograph at present I may have misled you here. Only one of my crank cases has the drain hole I referred to. It appears that ...

Re: Jupiter restorations.
There are principally 2 filter housings which differ in the size of the oil galleries. It is not really feasible to convert a small bore part to a large bore one. JCS May have a large bore one! The next problem is that Jowett only specified one gasket! Today JCS stocks 2 variants of the gasket to re...

Re: Oil Leak at Fuel Pump
Jowett seem to have played around with the crankshaft rear seal. There are at least 3 different seal arrangements. I see no reason why a stainless repair sleeve should not be fitted to the flywheel, though these are quite expensive - especially in 3" sizes

Re: Jupiter Rack and Pinion Bellows
The problem seems to be that you need non standard gaiters. I doubt if the product that you propose making would have universal appeal. Try hunting through agricultural parts suppliers. Someone somewhere probably makes something that will serve. Why can't your car be converted back to standard?

Re: Jupiter Rack and Pinion Bellows
As has been reported JCS supplies a rack boot kit for the Jupiter. These, however, are a generic part and should be fairly available from a good auto parts centre in the USA. I am not sure why the major diameter is questioned. The important dimensions are the diameter of the rack end and the diamete...
