E Bay Javelin

Post by Chris Spencer »

1951 Javelin - little information listed but it is stated that the engine has been totally rebuilt - looks like it has stood outside for some time in the images - in peices - doors / boot / bonnet off - lacking oil filler cap on the engine - unsure if it is all complete ? no reserve sale starting at £1,100 - the car is in Moray - weblink posted below - Drummond this is not one of the cars at last weeks auction ??

Also looks like the engine has never run. A stalled rebuild, so if the club does not know the car then we need to find out from the owner.

Not sure if that is primer, but Javelins look pretty cool in white - never seen one in that kind of colour before.

It certainly looks like a complete rebuild is going to be required, but the price is at least close to realistic.

Jack.

That is certainly primer that is on the panels Jack, pretty sure this car was part of a collection that was sold at auction last Saturday, the vendor has listed 4 cars listed on e bay all from the same site as the Javelin.

Chris, you are correct. It was not in the Glamis auction. If you get me details of the other cars I can relate them if they came from the Glamis Auction. I have a feeling that this was Graham McDonalds car from Forres. He died about 10 years ago and his son was trying to sell it then for funny money but no takers. I am going up north on Friday and will be in the area so I may attempt to make contact and possible view.
