Replacement for Castrol PH grease

Post by John Dolphin »

I have been reading through the posts on rebuilding the Javelin/Jupiter rear brakes and see that Castrol PH grease is recommended for lubricating the handbrake mechanism and brake shoe abutments.

I have had a quick search for PH grease and it seems to have been replaced by Castrol CL grease. Has anyone any experience of using Castrol CL?

I use it. For such applications you need something that is water repellant.

Jonh, I also use it for areas that can come into contact with water. I use it on the Jav/Jup handbreak rollers, water pump etc.
