Well, only a few weeks after seeing a review of Noel's new book in Practical Classics, and thinking about waiting until the rally to grab a copy (and ask the man himself to sign it for me) I noticed that they had a competition to win a copy.

With nothing to lose, other than the 41p stamp (41 pence, I remember stamps being 26p, no doubt some of you remember them a lot cheaper than that!) I sent off my note to ask to be entered.

Down I trot this evening to see what the postman has in store for me, and would you believe it, a brand spanking new copy of Jowett - A Century of Memories.

Thanks to Noel for providing copies to the competition, and to Practical Classics for pulling my name out of the hat! I must enter more competitions - there really is no feeling like winning something for once.
