NAJR Annual Rally
Seems not a lot gets posted under the Americas forum, but we had our second AGM this past weekend in Healdsburg, California. About 20 people attended, including some longtime Jowett owners I had not met previously. Lots of pictures were taken (none by me), so I will have to prompt a few people to post them up here.
Mike Stout and John Kenna brought Mike's car down from Vancouver and James Miller brought the ex-Alcroft, ex-Tisdale Javelin up as well.
It rained almost all weekend, very unusual for June in California, but that played very well for racing Jupiter 758 at the Sonoma Historic races. After the race, several of the drivers in my group commented on how well my Jupiter handled, something they had not noticed before. Well, that's because in the rain I could pass them and in the dry they are just too fast for my horsepower level! The Jup knocked off a Hudson Hornet, Siata 8V (Fiat V8 motor), a 2 liter Bristol-powered sports racer and a number of others. Although I must add that a super light weight racer with a BWW 600cc motorcycle motor proved to be quicker on the straights and in spite of me getting by a couple of times, he out accelerated the Jup to the finish line. It was a pretty neat little car, built in Czechoslavakia in the late 50's and beautifully presented.

Great to hear about the racing exploits. Please encourage all the NAJR guys to start communicating via JowettTalk and to get themselves into the Gallery and post some NAJR material such as some of Ted Miller's newsletters.

Re: NAJR Annual Rally
The Jowett Bash, or NAJR meeting, was a complete success with excellent opportunity to meet other Jowett owners and hear their stories. Highlight of the weekend was watching Scott race at the Sonoma Historic Race and sweet talking the gate keeper to allow Miller's Javelin and Stout's Jupiter into the Paddock area. Truly a historic moment for Jowetteers.

Hi John,
When you are posting, you will see a tab 'Upload attachment' below the input rectangle. Click on this, then 'browse' for the file on your computer, then 'add the file' (which uploads it) then 'link' the file where you want it in your post. It is best to resize any photo and compress to about 250KB prior to uploading.
