Javelin 5.3 litre custom
Now re listed on e bay as a auction with much reduced expectations by the owner - it is on as a auction - I am going to guess he will be happy at around the £7 - £8k mark and at this money it is well worth it - (I have my modern Astra up for sale at the minute so if that goes - I might just be tempted) - link posted below

Re: Javelin 5.3 litre custom
Ho yes - you know (or should by now) that I have V8's in the blood (and no that's not the veggie drink) - The stock car I raced for upteen years was V8 Chevrolet - the Rover I have owned for 8 years is obviously V8 and this Javelin just happens to be V8 Dodge powered - it would be interesting entering it into next years concours d'elegance !! - now if I do buy it where would I keep it - what I really need is a couple of good friends with a empty garage that could pay back the big favour that they received from me last year - when exactly do you move to the new house with the empty garage Amy & Jack ??Oh, would you now...?

Just for goodness' sake don't ask Jack about the house. He may well just offer up a string of expletives, interspersed with mention of banks, solicitors, and hapless vendors.
And would you *really* want to leave a V8 anything in our joint care? Just think about it for a second:
Jack. A V8.
A V8 and Jack.
Now, that of course would be countered by nice, responsible little me...

Now I dont feel so lonely lolHo yes - you know (or should by now) that I have V8's in the blood (and no that's not the veggie drink) - The stock car I raced for upteen years was V8 Chevrolet
Im a SB chevy man from way way back.....BB chevy is ok, if had a choice would go Dodge
The beauty of the Chevy sb, it will drop into damn near anything...including an old 60s mini...jags, common re power.
Chris u mention hes dropped the HP....Am I going blind cant see it...
If a street cat, I wonder why a 3.7 diff...if a 3 speed box??
torqflite A700R is that the same as the GM 700R 4 speed?
be a good all round trans, lower 1st and 2nd than the T350 and T400 and higher top gear...so will be mean off the line and about 2000 rpms @60mph... about a 3.55 diff excellent choice for quick street strip IF the engine hasnt been over camed as 99% of projects like this are.
If camed right, carb and advance tuned in well, would expect at least 26 mpg on a trip, 20 around town and still pull a high 13 sec 1/4 mile....that makes 40 yr old technology as good as if not better than modern ECU technology in economy.
A modern 3.8 V6 holden (vauxal in the UK) pulls about 24 if really granny footed.
Im currently pulling 33mph equivient open road, 28 around town, not grany footing in the Camaro....350ci (5.7L)
My Spelling is Not Incorrect...It's 'Creative'

Jack a V8! I do not think it is low geared enough for Jack. He might go faster than a pre-war.

Re: Javelin 5.3 litre custom
Okay boyos (and, umm, girlos?):
I have been watching said V8 Javelin and have no qualms about its "bastardization". I was thinking US$16k was not a bad asking price, but no one bit. It looks like a nicely done piece and, at the right price, it belongs in my garage. I'm thinking as a tow vehicle for my Jupiter. Now, the boot space appears a bit limited and I would add air conditioning and sound deadening for sure, but I'm pretty certain it would handle the grades to get me to the race track.
I am positive I couldn't build one for the price at which this will sell. Take delivery in Jolly Old and do some touring before packing it off to So.Cal.
And by the way, I think Jack and V8 are a a good match. Just think of all the Youtube video footage that would follow!

If you need someone to collect it and get it to a port a few days later, just get in touch, happy to help

Jack.
Re: Javelin 5.3 litre custom
Auction ended early - no longer for sale. That either means he has changed his mind, or someone has bought it for cash.
Hopefully someone we know, or someone we will know soon enough. I'd be really keen to get a good look at that car, and it must be one of the fastest Javelins on the road.
Jack.
