Models and Years
Being new around here a (another) question for you folks. What are your thoughts about a web site showing pictures and models in a time line. I have to say if you put a Curlew and a Weasel in front of me I would not be able to tell the difference (sad but true).
I would be happy to put it together if folks would send me their pictures. I would also be happy to host it on my web site and anyone who chose to could link as they see fit.
If you think it a good idea, I'm sure I'll get bits wrong so don't shout but gently point me to the error of my ways.

The Time line
I'm happy to help. I can put captions under pictures if members do not know how. If you send me your pictures with make model and any salient points to my web site there is a link to send me an e-mail at the bottom of the page. Or indeed just e-mail me from within Jowett.org I will generate them in a similar format and size put the caption under them and forward them to forumadmin.

Time Line
What format and size would you like the pictures in please. If I need to, do I have permission to use any of the pictures from Jowett.org and maybe even Keith Clements own site. I have no wish to upset anyone or tread on any toes.
Incidently do the members know that if they are on dial up accounts that it is possible to get someone who is on broadband to download a (I'm not certain this would work on this site as bulletin boards are a little unusual but other well known Jowett sites could be done with of course the owners permission) web site as a .pdf and burn it complete with working links to a DVD and view any of the sites off line thus costing the price of a DVD and postage not hours trawling the net.

To make a pic of suitable size for the webWhat format and size would you like the pictures in please.
Use a pic editing prog.
Use 'crop' and take out unwanted background being the subject to the fore
Use 'resize' to longest side between 500 to 600 500 is what I use
Use 'file/Save as' jpg (jepg) there is a 'opions' button..set to about 20% change the file name so as not to loose the orginal and save
This gives a pic between 15k and 50k
Then upload

First, think up your story which will probably be a timeline from 1906 to 1954. We can start with the major models, then expand to ALL the variations and then add some close ups of the changing details.
In theory we could have a picture of every single Jowett on the books for reference but that will take some doing. I think our Javelin Registrar has started on the Javelins.
