Barry: -

When your club membership arrives it should include a list of current club members.

There you will find a few familiar names, but more importantly, a careful search of the relevant Section MAY reveal contacts close to home. Only a few will be 'vintage' owners, but you will soon get to know who is able - and willing - to help with advice and more.

Read, mark, learn and inwardly digest!

Think of the money I'll save too! It certainly means there's a good chance she could be back on the road by summer, unless any real problems surface. The fact it is complete, if not entirely original, and was only taken off the road due to the owner's death, gives me a good head start.

If I can find somewhere nearer to move the car, we can do a proper survey and make a start, while I try and get the garage here done. At that point, I'm sure I will be badgering for advice constantly, so thanks in advance.

Apparently my club membership is already on its way. I'm hoping someone reasonable close will have an original of around this age I could have a look over, but I have no idea how many of these are still around?

Hi Barry,

I'd reccomend trying to get along to the rally, which is a long way from you in Wales this year, but you will find at least a couple of similar cars (which may have travelled some distance to be there) and also meet the owners, share contact details, and get some advice.

I don't think that there will be rooms available at the hotel, however you could certainly find alternative places to stay locally, and we'd be happy to introduce you to a few of the people you have already "met" on this thread and also some knowledgeable members who may not be online.

June 2nd and 3rd, Llandrindod Wells. It is the biggest Jowett event of the year, and hopefully by then your project will be well underway!

Jack.

Looking through the membership list, there are a few quite close by, including one about 2 miles away! I won't be able to make the Wales Rally sadly (another baby will be here by then), but I do hope to get to the East Anglian Section events in the very near future and hopefully be able to go further afield once the car is up and running........... he said confidently!
