Discussed briefly last night - our vague plan is to go to Birmingham on Thursday night after work and get to NEC on Fri late morning to help Alan, LCC and Midlands Section setup (Jowetts everywhere!), and stay until Saturday evening unless we really need to be around on Sunday or get invited to beers on Saturday night :) We have rooms booked with Mummy and Daddy Moon, who do a mean breakfast and only a short hop from the NEC by train. By mean breakfast, obviously you are thinking good. By mean, I am talking average :D

Update to this - our plan is now to get there on Wed night so we are around on Thursday to help with setup, because I didn't realise the show proper is open on Friday and we will be at the show with everyone on Friday to see the finished article.

Sounds like we will be heading home on Friday evening or Saturday morning to get on with work on Peter's car at home.

If any members are going to be there please post and let us know your vague plans - obviously there will be a number of us around the three stands but if anyone is "going it alone" they will be welcome to come and find some of us.

They have published the finialists in this weeks Classic Car Weekly. Another Jowett in the press :) Its odd seeing the lady "out there". Im currently knee deep in polish and rags getting her clean, and i must say this is my least favourite part of owning a car like this, cleaning her.

Hi Alan,

Get it scanned, get it in the gallery! Great to see more publicity after all the work that has gone into the car and the competition.

Are we nearly there yet?

Some tough competition there. I only hope Jowett owners did not vote for my namesake. I must go and chat to him at NEC! I only hope he is not the guy that nicked me passport in 1992 and was going around Europe with my identity.

Right, I am busy for the remaining week - so 'Good Luck' Alan - hope all goes well - of course you are already a winner at this stage but it would be fantastic if you came out on top!

Regards

Chris

Looking good Alan = don't forget to e-mail the scan to Noel. Everyone is really proud of you, it seems every Jowett owner I speak to has heard all about it and is very excited.

We have arrived in Birmingham, and the car is full of all kinds of useful stuff for tomorrow.

The NEC show map is fairly straightforward. Look for the Classic Car of the Year stand. Look for the nearest bar. Everything else is detail :D

Don't forget to smile, enjoy it, and take photos. Because the next 3 days is going to be a very fun whirlwind!
