Consistency, missing no controls over the 10 day, 2000-mile event over the Dolomites to Slovenia and Brescia saw the MG’s win decided by performance on the kart circuit tests, where they narrowly beat John Blanckley/Tony Davies in a Jowett Javelin.

Re: Blankley Javelin second in Liege Rally.
I hope John sees this, because to have finished 2nd overall was no mean achievement.
I speak from experience of the same event a year later when it was the turn of theXK and E types. A.. It's a long way from Liege to Brescia more especially when you go via Slovenia. B.. Fancy doing the Stelvio and the Garvia in both directions.yes and many more besides eg the Pordoi. My point is this is most serious test of cars ability would see off most. So well done John.
P.s. I was navigating for my good friend john Gilpin in his superb metallic blue coupe e type
Pps. John was driving the LHD yellow peril Jupiter not avJavelin on this occasion. I still have Malcolm Mckays Christmas card showing johnarrivingvatvthecsummit of the dreaded Garvia on my office desk.
Pops I would thoroughly recommend any event organised by Malcolm mcKay they are great value, good fun and appear to attract interesting competition
