Went to a local steam rally with The "Lady". And some how managed to drive off with "Best Car in Show" Totally unexpected. All in all a great weekend though. Lots of sun and sun burn. And a collection of flat cap wearing enthusiasts of steam and vintage vehicles.

Great work Alan - what a year for you and the car! An impressive achievement for a show of that size, and the stand looked great.

See you in Basingstoke, you will have to bring the trophy collection with you!

Jack.

The show was in Yeovil, Somerset. So about 10 miles from me. A good run for the lady before basingstoke. Covering about 60 miles over the weekend there and back over 3 days. The award was quite a shock. The marshall came over telling me that i had to be in the main ring for 1 o clock when I asked why he replied you got car of the show. I just had to laugh. In disbelief as there were some nice cars there. including a nice little 1920/30s austin special just ripe for trialling. I have no idea what the criteria was or who if anyone had voted. Although one guy seemed also in disbelief. How could that win?! The paint is awful and full of runs. To which my reply was its on the road and in use. And to me at the moment thats what its all about.

Alan - Firstly 'Well Done' - Secondly if only every other classic / vintage car owner had your attitude the whole old car movement would be fantastic thing - catch up at Basingstoke - have a safe trip

Well done Alan, I am so pleased you are keeping up your winning ways! It is great to see a pre-war Jowett getting so much positive publicity - keep it up!
