List of awards

Post by AlanBartlett »

Is there a collective list of club awards of which are presented and who had been awarded them at each national rally, how far does the list go back if there is one?

Hi Alan,

Kind of. There is a list on the trophies themselves, which should complete most of the records for us, but there are gaps where people have not had the trophies engraved (though there are times when the trophies are not awarded) and also the engraving does not always include model details or registration number.

If you contacted Sandra I suspect she could help with most of the records while she has been in charge of the trophies. It is certainly a list worth having, though probably one for the gallery to avoid details being released to the internet without owners permission (some trophies include name, registration number and model, which some may prefer to keep from the general public)

And there is a complete list of club and concours awards in your rally pack from Basingstoke, but there is a list here: http://jowett.org/jowettnet/dt/club/Awards.htm

For the concours, there is Premier, First and Second for each category.

In addition to the above, this year the Exec decided to introduce a stationary engine concours award, and have used the Williams Cup for this purpose. There is also the award for best photographic contribution to the Jowetteer, separate to the best overall contribution, CPS Airedale trophy from memory.

Regards,

Jack.

Hi Jack,

What I was looking is was there a chrological ordered kind of list of who won which trophies each year through out the years. I shall try Sandra Purves and see what she may turn up.

Hello Alan.

I've a feeling that theJowetteer mag has the list of winners for most years, usually a month or two after the Rally, but I don't know how you'll be able to access the complete magazine run.

Aha! Through the magic of the gallery! Or at least at some point fairly soon we hope to have this. Just needs an awful lot of scanning, but to get readable documents that you could view and look for winners should be entirely possible, though making them searchable might be more difficult.
