Enjoying summer in a Jowett

Why not tell us about your car (start with a picture) and say what you have done with it; either restoring or using it over the years. Restoration of particular parts is of special interest. Club members can have their space on in their Personal Album to do this.

Enjoying summer in a Jowett

So I spent the weekend at a local steam rally taking the lady down for show. Performing well on the run down each day. Getting more used to driving her again. Along with smoother gearchanges. Another thing I was quite impressed with on one of the hills on the way back, steadily climbing up in 2nd, and run out of motion. I had mucked up the gear change from second down the first. so promptly pulled up waited for the engine to settle and engage first gear. What was steep hill and I was amazed how it managed to climb up mid ascent. Along with how well the brakes seem to be working now. Quite a difference.

Was a brilliant weekend packed with lots of sun and being the that site was right next to the beach alot of that too. Its interesting the stories you hear from people, sometimes the same old ones my dad had one, my grand dad had one. And some of the comments which are made..."Look a bugsy malone car" "Gangster" Which I found quite funny. To one unusual story of a man who remembered that they had two javelins which they used to run in regular use. I remember them, I chopped my my finger off in the fan blades. Then proceed to show me his missing digit.
