FEBRUARY –Sunday 7th –12noon for 12:30pm - Post-Christmas Lunch – 3 course Carvery / vegetarian option including tea / coffee for £15:75 each at The Lake at Barston Restaurant, The West Midlands Golf Club, Marsh House Lane, Barston B92 0LB (off the A452 near Balsall Common). MARCH – Wednesday 2nd Section Meeting at The Lime Kilns, Hinckley LE10 3ED for 8pm ‘Noggin n’ Natter and to finalise the programme for the forthcoming summer months.
MARCH - Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th NEC Practical Classics Restoration Show -The JCC display was awarded the “Best Club Stand in Show” for the previous two years and this high profile event is seen as a further promotion of the Jowett Car Club. APRIL- Sunday 24th “Drive it Day” DRIVE IT DAY is always held on the nearest Sunday to the 23rd April. This date was chosen in 2005 by FBHVC to commemorate the 64 cars that set off from London on 23rd April 1900 on the first “One Thousand Mile Trial”; an incredible undertaking and one that deserves an annual celebration. It is a fantastic opportunity to ‘Showcase’ the wondrous collection of Historic Vehicles in the U.K. and to demonstrate the activities of Clubs such as ours. They may be events local to you that you can join in with or we can suggest The STILTON CHEESE CLASSIC VEHICLE RUN This is amongst the UK’s best supported event on this significant day. MAY Friday 13th – Monday 16th Cotswold Tour & Prescott Charity Hill Climb – Again The Rising Sun on Cleeve Hill will provide our base for our stay in the Cotswolds and we have negotiated the rate for the three night stay of £235 for B&B based on couple sharing double room, we can also enjoy the special evening meal menu of £20 for two persons

JULY Sunday 31st Beaumanor Hall - Jowett Car Club Display- Leicestershire LE12 8TX There is a £3.50 fee for a vehicle pass that covers admission for two adults. During WWII the Hall became a secret listening station where encrypted enemy signals (Morse code) were intercepted and sent to the famous Station X at Bletchley Park (by motorbike everyday) for decoding. Beaumanor Hall was to be the home of the War Office ‘Y’ Group for the duration of the war.
Make sure you take the time to go on one of their scheduled house tours throughout the day (http://www.beaumanorhall.co.uk).
Enjoy afternoon tea whilst listening to a vintage band and take in the history of this fabulous venue.
