I'm keen to go. If I tell Peter my family name is Widmer, he might understand why!

Our Long two was owned by my great uncle Edward many decades ago and it was his father (my great grandfather), Ami Widmer who emigrated to England from Interlaken.

other capitals ...well yes and then there are the eastern European ones we have not yet visited. We were saving those for a 'round the Med ' tour but that is unlikely to happen with the current political situations.

Looking forward to it.

Need to get some dates decided so that we can get it in our diaries ..so perhaps all those interested in going can contact Peter?
Some suggestions.
1. Synchronise it with another event either in the area or somewhere Europe so that those from other continents have more than one reason to make the effort. This works well with the NZ and AUS rallies for instance when they are two weeks apart. Examples would be Goodwood FOS or Revival but there are many others to fit with most months.
2. Suggest other attractions for visitors on the way such as the Schlumpf collection at Mulhouse. Once we get to know who is coming we can plan some interesting routes. I have many good road routes in mind having rallied from Holland/Belgium to Italy and France many times.
3. Many will be concerned at the distance the Jowetts will travel. Many people drive many hundreds of miles in Jowetts of all ages to events. Some may have problems but in nearly all cases they are solved and the Jowett gets you there and back. The feeling of achievement is something else! The journey will not be a problem if the owners take care to prepare the vehicle. Such preparation should not be extensive or expensive but do not expect a car that has only just come out of hibernation to do more than 100 miles. I will publish a checklist nearer the event.

The Hotel Frohsinn has already taken some bookings for the event, 14 people have said they are coming so do not delay too long in securing your place. Three pre-war and four post war cars are so far committed to the journey so all ages will be catered for.

Some are coming by train car transport from Dusseldorf to save some car miles and so will miss out on the Grand tour of the Rhein on the way there and eastern France on the way back.

I've just seen this YouTube video for the first time.
Perhaps everyone else already has, but if I'm allowed, I'll post it here.
Hope it doesn't put off the entrants to Peter Pfisters Rally in Switzerland!
