Back in 2013 I was delighted to come across your website because I was getting married in the autumn that year and wanted to surprise my Dad by finding a Jowett Javelin to take us to the church together.
My Dad owned one back in the late 1950’s when he was courting my Mum and had wonderful happy memories of driving his Jowett down to the South of France with Mum when he was newly married. There’s a family photo of this trip back at my parents’ house, so, it made complete sense to find one for my wedding.
And, thanks to your website we did!!. It was the most amazing pale green, in incredible condition, and my Dad was in 7th Heaven when he saw it. He spent so long chatting in awe with its owner that we were 12 minutes late to the church!!! What’s more, the Jowett’s owner actually realised that he knew my husband to be, Graham, from the world of farming as he was based in Sussex and that’s where Graham lived before he moved to Kent to be with me, and we had a very pleasurable test drive in the Jowett with its owner to see what it was like before the wedding.
So, I have an awful lot to be grateful for, thanks to your great website, and that’s my association with JowettTalk.
However, I haven’t posted since the wedding and I guess it probably makes sense to delete me from the membership.
If you want to see any photos of my parents’ car in the 50’/60’s, or the pale green Jowett on my wedding day, pls let me know.
