1935 Wings Wanted

Post by AlanBartlett »

This I know is going to be a long shot post, but would anyone in their hordes of Jowett bits and bobs have a set of front wings for a 1935 Jowett. (Like the 34 models but with an added side bit. Eventually I'm looking in the future to change the wings on the Weasel as these are not right for the car. (Believed to be from an Austin.) I'll put a plea out in the Jowetteer too, just thought I would gauge if any one had pair tucked away.

Hens teeth springs to mind!

Hi Alan. Definitely put a Wanted in the Jowetteer. I put an ad in looking for a seat for the Long Two, just so I'd tried all avenues, but with little real hope. A few days later, a nice gentleman from the North West section rang me with the offer of one for free!

Hi Tony, Barry,

Sadly the wings are just the wrong shape, ideally I don't want to cut up a set of wings which could be useful to someone else, though not Jowett ones someone of another marque may be in need.

I'll attach a photo of how they should be and how they are now. They are quite bulbous in comparison. Someone has also cut and "Squat" the radiator surround to make it similar to a 36 Weasel in styling. Luckily at Beaulieu a few years ago I found a radiator surround I took pity on, surprisingly in good condition, though the current Weasel one can be put back to how it should be with too much hassle.
