Hi,
I'm looking for a Jupiter to restore, unfortunately can't afford the initial outlay for a finished article so looking for something I can rebuild. I missed out on the recent one on e-bay but hopefully someone here picked that one up and are putting it back on the road. Jupiters were the first car I really liked and have followed them since I was 18, 30 ish years later it's time to see if I will ever own one. Appreciate that they are like hen's teeth but please let me know if one comes up.
thanks
Tim

Re: Wanted Jupiter restoration project
Tim - You may well have to consider something that is on the road but at lower end of the market that could be improved - complete restoration projects are very scarce has most vehicles have been discovered & restored - also restoring a Jupiter can be both complex if structural or panel repairs are required and can far exceed the cars final worth upon completion - I restore Jowett's professionally with Jupiter restorations far exceeding any other model of the marque that I restore. If I can help / advise (has a club member and not from a commercial prospective) please do not hesitate to contact me - finally I would strongly advise that you join the club if you are not already a member - you stand a far better chance of being advised or hearing of a Jupiter for sale through the club than any other source - Chris

Re: Wanted Jupiter restoration project
Thanks Chris
Yes I think you are right in terms of a rolling restoration as an option. I've seen some of the pictures of the work you have completed on here and it's certainly very impressive. Guess I was trying to set expectations the I'm not in the £25-30K budget but hopefully there is something out there I can add to. I've had Austins for a while so not afraid of getting my hands too dirty, but still an amateur and know my limitations. Trust me to fall for an aluminium bodied, hand built car in short supply. Helps having an understanding wife.
The club membership application is in so I guess that will be processed in the fullness of time. Thanks for the offer of advice, reading the forum it does seem like a really helpful and supportive club.
cheers

Tim - I post in far more detail on another forum in order to cast the Jowett net upon a wider audience where Jowett's are little heard or known of - if you want to read up / follow these it should give you a good background / heads up - the body off restoration is just about to recommence - I have been awaiting some newly commissioned repair panels for the bulkhead & the complete restoration is also ticking over in the background but starting to now gather pace - if you have any further questions regardless of what they are - please do not hesitate to get back in touch - links below - Regards Chris
