This may seem a strange question but just to satisfy my curiosity; On "Home" market cars i.e RHD, the Lucas control box is mounted under the bonnet more or less in front of the passenger. On left hand drive cars did it transfer to the other side or remain in the same place and therefore be in front of the driver?

The control box was moved to the passenger side on the LHD, so slightly different wiring harness. The throttle mechanism has a transfer bar to move it to the other side of the floorboards and the dimmer switch stubs your toe getting in and out of the LHD driver position.
