Despite our best efforts, the December issue of Jowetteer failed to drop through letter boxes at the beginning of the month. It was ready for collection from the printer by Royal Mail on Wednesday 25th November and was indeed collected on that day.
Unfortunately, Royal Mail seems to have gone into melt-down, with major sorting offices closing down for seven days if one of their staff is found to have the virus. The Sheffield office was one example; my own copy took 12 days to make the journey from Leeds to Chesterfield. The bottom line is, Royal Mail deliveries will happen when they happen. Shades of 1971 and the infamous postal strike.
The January 2021 issue (which will also carry the Preston rally booking form) is being printed as I write. The printer has the address labels, all will be ready for Royal Mail to collect on the first Monday of January, which is the 4th, and we shall have to Wait & See how long it takes for them to be delivered….
Please can you pass on this information to any member who asks you what went wrong - and advise them that Barbara has spare copies if theirs has still not arrived.

Full mailboxes
And it will be on JowettTalk the same day here.
The December Jowetteer was 12.5MB which may have overloaded some mailboxes. However, to maintain its quality it needed to be that size. I have said for many years that pulling the Jowetteer from this website is better than sending by email as if email inboxes get full they no longer receive emails and so people could miss important messages. I frequently get such non-delivery reports from users of JowettTalk when I send them an email!
Yes I know you have to logon to JowettTalk, but you do to your mail system!
I have proposed to offer a service to include a link to the JowettTalk copy in the email sent by Jack so that you can access the high qaulity version as well as the lower quality version attached to the email.
