Bradford diff rebuild

Post by wamtam »

Hello to all from Tasmania

Currently in the throes of rebuilding our CB Bradford rear axle and as the diff has been pulled apart before I got to it and was loosely reassembled I was hoping that someone just may have either some photos or a pdf of the assembly process in particular of the pinion assembly just to confirm the order of shims and oil slinger plate orientation

cheers from oz

Thanks Keith and Jeremy that all seem to help my concern much appreciated.
Now I will get on and assemble the pinion with a little more confidence that the slinger is on the right way around.

As always the proof will be in the resulting meshing pattern but just didn’t want to have to be pressing it back apart.

Thanks everyone
The Diff is reassembled new bearings and back into the housing rear axle bearings replaced the pinion and crown wheel obviously showing their age but meshing well so very pleased with that.

Now to move onto the gearbox

cheers

Soon be able to take it around the island and enjoy all that lovely seafood! I had a great time driving the Javelin around there.
