Javelin front outriggers

Have bought a pair of new front outriggers for my Javelin the old ones are past repair and new ones are cheap from JCS.
I was wondering if any members have any tips or points to watch out for when fitting these or is it a straight forward job cut out the old and weld in the new.

Chris is probably the best bet, and yes you do need to watch alignment of the door hinges should any repairs involve getting close to them.

Have taken out the outriggers seems like they have been changed before guess 70 years is a long time for metal.
Have welded in the drivers side and am now working on the passenger side.

Have fitted the new front outriggers just cut the old ones out or what was left of them and welded the new ones in.
It was a straitforward job. Have now painted with black paint looks ok.

Its front outriggers that Barry is replacing and should have no effect on the doors closing / fitting / opening - The A post above the outriggers is sturdy enough / attached to the front inner wing to self support itself (unless its completely rotten) - The point made by Keith refers to the B post on which the doors hinge from - Unless the B post is correctly braced it moves when the jacking point is removed - It only requires to be a few mm out of alignment for the doors not to fit / close / open / latch / lock or make contact with other areas / panels of the body - Having now rectified several Javelins of this problem after defective work by others I can probably do it with my eyes shut :D

Thanks Chris for the post about the outriggers and door closing. JowettTalk has excelled over the years at being the go-to site for all things Jowett, most of which can't be found in books or even on the wider internet.
There are still many Jowett experts around, and their informed musings on this site will long outlive some of us, but will be a boon to future, and present-day Jowett owners.
Occasionally I jump into the other section posts, but usually only as Devil's Advocate as I don't know much about the more modern, or even vintage Jowett vehicles.
