Is there an easy way to see what the rubber seals around the boot should look like?
When bought the car had only a seal across the top edge (B shaped cross-section). I now have a seal from Jowett Spares which has a V shaped cross-section.
I'm unclear about the correct way these seals should be fitted. Advice very welcome please.
Thanks Anthony

Re: javelin boot rubber seals
Ant - Apologies for the slow response - the original rubber travels across the top of the boot lid and then down either side but not across the bottom - it is glued in place - It's critical that you use the correct adhesive through - it needs to be a trimming adhesive of a high temperature resistance so that when cars body gets hot in summer the glue does not release its adhesion on the rubber (anything else will not work) this is what I use and where I obtain it from - I can take some pics of my boot seal & post them tomorrow should you wish - link to my supplier below

Hi Chris
NO apologies needed!
Thank you for this advice and about the rear window seal earlier. It is SO helpful and reassuring to have expert advice at hand. It gives me the confidence that my efforts will work and respect the car.
Boot seal photos would be very helpful if that not too much trouble.
I have bought the window sealant you suggested and will order the adhesive today.
And, just to be sure, am I right that I refit the rear window from the outside?
Thank you again
Anthony

Anthony - Rear windows can be fitted from the outside to the inside by placing the rubber around the glass first then offering the window up to the aperture you might have to tape the rubber to the glass temporally with masking tape loops - you can then hook the windscreen rubber over the aperture from the inside - once in apply sealer on both the glass to rubber & body to rubber prior to carefully refitting the trim which you can slide the bottom corners in from each side - something like WD40 will help with this - but not too much otherwise the trim will just keep making a bid for freedom - It's currently raining & drawing dark here but I'll take some pics of the boot rubber in the morning - Chris
