Jupiter side window glass channel
Can anyone tell me where I can get the glass channel from and what size it needs to be
Also I will need to adapt a Javelin winder mechanism to fit a Jupiter - has anyone done this ?

Re: Jupiter side window glass channel
I'll measure the channel for you next time I'm in the garage, might be a week on Friday. The window mechanism is not the same as the Javelin one, it's horribly complicated and an absolute pig to fit! If you don't have one it might be easier to use one from something else, I seem to remember the Fiesta ones are quite simple.

Thanks Rich
A photo would be very helpful also if you can and may I be bold and ask for diamentions of each section
This will be so valuable for me and anyone else in the future that is restoring a Jupiter where the windows have been removed

Re: Jupiter side window glass channel
There are of course two sides. One is the chrome quarter light bar, the other a thin metal u channel that has normally rusted away. Rubber u section to take the width of the glass is required but this might require some lubrication with silicone. Better would be a fabric covered rubber but I could not source that.
The window glass is held into the lifter with a thin rubber sheet which I also glued.
This link may help.

Also shows using Jav bits to repair jup mechanism.

I've got some pictures for you, the winder is the drivers side (RHD car) but the window and side window may be from the other side. I was in a bit of a rush because I has 2K epoxy primer on the go and it's a bit time critical between coats, or so the data sheet said. There might be a bit mising from the rear, as Keith said it could be the bit that disolves, I've possibly got some of it left but it wasn't in the obvious pile of bits.
Anyway, hope this helps.

When I have adapted a Javelin one, I will post the alterations needed for the file for future restorations

My 'supervisor' thinks Drummond Black did a Javelin conversion several years ago.
