Periodically I hear that these are no longer available. What are your experiences of alternatives, are you sitting on dozens of old stock etc.

I had a consevation about this with Neil Moore some time back...
From memory there is an upgrade one can make to a modern filter.???

if I remember rightly a Vauxhall viva ?1257cc filter housing can be easily adapted to the bradford, It looks similar to the vokes type having a housing of the same diameter but shorter & retained by a central bolt , the attraction being that it uses a throw away paper cartridge whiich may be available new & should be plentiful at autojumbles.

He has made an adaptor that takes modern spin on fully enclosed cannisters that can be purchased anywhere as the are moden car filters. Cheap no mess

I use an external filter on my 1953 Ford Prefect upright model. The Ford Sidevalve owners Club sell a replacement that uses throwaway paper filter and also a company called Pop parts Plus in Derbyshire do the same. I understand both versions resemble the original steel can. Fortunately I still have a couple of the original new filters for my car, I assume the innards do not deteriorate with age. I hope this is of use to your club members.
I dont own a Bradford yet but dreaming is almost a good
