JUPITER SHOCK ABSORBERS

Post by Drummond Black »

Alan, I have AVO shocks on my Jupiter. They are adjustable and once I got them set up they have been superb. As to part numbers, at this stage I have no idea. The original boxes may still be " hidden " somewhere in the garage. They were purchased from Bill Lock some years ago so he may be in a position to help. Suspension on the Jupiter is the later rubber bushed type.

I fitted the Javelin with KONI shocks and they are also adjustable, but a bit more difficult to adjust as you have to unbolt one end and compress and twist whereas the AVO have a side adjustment.

Hope the above starts the ball rolling.

There was an article published, September 2002 in 'By Jupiter' , in which it listed various types of shock absorbers fitted by members.
Suggest you look it out. Alternatively Email me and I will send you copy. The important elements is the fitting at either end but more importantly is the closed and extended dimensions. Once you know that the search begins with the final selection dependant on cost and availability
