Dear Jowett Club,
I am searching for any information/lead on a Buckler '90' Sports Special circa 1954-56 which was built to special order using a Jowett flat four engine. I have met the Buckler member of staff who assisted with the building of this car and is still alive but all he can remember was that it was built for a Mr Doug Allen who lived in the Crowthorne district of Berkshire not far from the Buckler factory. The Buckler '90' model was very streamined and probably weighed not more than 10 cwt so would have been quicker than a Jupiter.
The Buckler engineer who I know said he was also involved in a project of fitting a Jowett flat four engine into a prototype Morris Minor, I think he said this was a contract that the Emeryson car company had with Morris motors. He said the resulting Morris was unmanagable on the road. Too much power.
I hope this may be food for investigation?
regards Malcolm Buckler ( son of the designer of Buckler Cars)
