Were the old bradford vans around at the end of the 50's 6-or 12 volt and which were the most popular?
2 of us toured around the central north island painting all the petrol pumps excepting europa . anyone who had a pump or oil equip. had it painted and transfers attached .
It took us 9 months and the old girl never blinked except for the little round air breather gadget every so often.
That was the bosses. Then I bought my own .Three times we did that trip.
Still interested at 85.

This is my understanding....Bradfords from the late 40s thru to early 60s where like what the toyota hi ace is to day for butchers, bakers, candle stick makers and booser pump painters.
The early models where 6 V and changed (cant rem the yr ) to 12v early to mid 50s
Talking to several old service men, it seems updating 6V to 12V was common.

As with most things Jowett the answer to this is not straight forward! The CA and CB Bradfords were all 6v. The CC Utility Deluxe - introduced at the very end of 1949 (for 1950) was introduced as 12v. The commercial variants soldiered on with 6v electrics until 1951 (presumably when Jowett had used up all the 6v bits!)
