Among the boxes of bits that came with my 8 when purchased recently was a JCC enamal / chrome car badge - on the mounting upright of the badge (just under the year date of 1923) is stamped the number 377 - do I take it that this the membership number of some previous owner ??

More a sequence number for the badge. Mind you some more knowledgeable people may be able to say the year of manufacture, indeed we might be able compile a list of all known badges and have aregister. Some people do like to do such things!
