MAKING THE MOST OF IT

We don't seem to be!

Just to start a chat line - who IS going to Wakefield?

I am going up with my son on the Friday, leaving Eastbourne before noon (hopefully! I have yet to be sure that I can get the car loaded into the Transit I have hired!).

I will have tools and rope, so if I pass anyone in trouble I will of course be offering assistance.

Anybody anything to add?

Hi Ian,

Our convoy will be leaving from Kings Langley (just off M25/M1) at noon on Friday, might be worth joining up with the gang heading to Wakefield if you can get there about that time, or you will probably catch them as they head up the M1.

Best to contact Keith as he seems to be the man with the plan on this, but I think there's 4 cars currently going up from there.

I imagine it's the more the merrier (within reason) so if others are heading up from the area or coming through they will either see the gang en route or at the various stops along the way. It won't be the fastest convoy, but will no doubt be a fun one.

I will be in Sheffield for the day so will be meeting everyone at Wakefield, hopefully with a full complement of cars and ready for a pint.

Jack.

Jack (et al): -

I hope to be leaving Eastbourne about 10.00 on Friday with PG 7956 in a 'Long Luton' and will probably go that way, but I do wonder if it might be better to go the A1 route as it is possible to stop more or less anywhere en route in the event (unlikely?!) of unforseen circumstances rather than get stuck on the motorway.

Still, it is good to know that I am not the only one 'reading' this slot!

Hope to catch up with you in Wakefield.

This Jowett has been resting since 1981. It's time for it to do some work!

I think the motorway route was chosen due to some interesting experiences on A roads with a shortage of places to pull in and get under/over/inside the car and check things, motorway service stations are fairly frequent and there's always space for these things.

We'll see you in Wakefield, everyone hope for sunshine.
