My 8HP and the Jowett Centenary
Posted: Tue Jun 01, 2010 5:09 pm
Just wanted to offer UP a huge thank you, to everybody who, in some form or other helped me to get my 1938 8HP road worthy for today's journey home to Macclesfield.
Some of you, will probably know, but other's may not. I've had brake problems since arriving last Friday, this culminated in a rather dramatic entrance to Canon Hall, when the front near side decided to LOCK on, with out any help from yours truly.
Thanks to Tim Brown, who very kindly adjusted the front brakes today; I was able to get home.
My thanks go to the following Jowetteer members. Who helped me, or offered there expert advice, over the week-end, yesterday and today.
Peter Holden,
Ken Rogers,
Alan Bartlett,
Anthony Fearn,
Timothy A Brown.
This afternoon, following advice from Timothy this morning. I have booked the car in at Daytona in Congleton on June 22, for a full service.
I shall be speaking with Ian Priestly at JCS on Monday evening, to buy four rubber, Gaters, and Sump Plug, and depending on what Ian tells me. Four re-lined brake shoe's.
The car, I think is now in need of some mechanical tlc.
Cheers
Paul.
