JowettTalk

You will see that I have moved Jowetttalk to a faster serever and upgraded the software. Please enjoy the improved attachment and search facilities.

The Gallery will be following shortly so please do not add any new comments or items.

I have checked some of the new JowettTalk and made sure previous links to pictures (both uploaded to JowettTalk and outside) still work. This required some movement of pictures on both the old site, keithclements.co.uk , and the new, jowett.net. Stubs are left in jowett.org and keithclements.co.uk to direct people to the new site.

At some stage the old links will be upgraded to allow the old site to be switched off. Until then, if it does go down then those picture links may fail.

All posts lost in the transfer have now been copied.

Gallery has now been moved; http://jowett.net/gallery/ although it has been upgraded it has not been upgraded to the latest version 3 which is such a great change I am not sure we want to do it yet.

It was not an easy upgrade as all database tables had to changed to account for case sensitivity due to switch from Windows to Linux. Never mind I learnt some SQL!

I had to move files in two stages and some of the latest updates in a third stage manually so please let me know if anything is missing.

Note that I would advise only putting photos and movies into the Gallery as the next release only allows those (unless I hack it a bit!) With the new attachment feature in JowettTlak other docs should be better stored and annotated there.

The previous web pages of the homes of Gallery and forum have stubs to tell users to change URLs.
Links within websites managed here have been changed to direct links.
Auto redirect (which was used when the sites moved from jowett.org) does not always work. It does not on my phone for instance.
Note that jowett.org is still the website. jowett.net is under construction and may be password protected.

Further work last night and this evening has cleared up some of the broken links caused by the moves over the last few years from jowett.org to keithclements.co.uk and then to jowett.net. What with some http://www.jowett.org in there as well it took some time to write the SQL and do some manual changes to a few hundred posts. A blanket change could not be done as some links to jowett.org are still valid. But I may have missed some of these which should not have been changed.

Please check and if you come across any broken links to non existent web pages or images, please send a PM, embedding a link to the offending post.

All Gallery and Forum links should now be on Jowett.net. Some links still should point to pages on jowett.org and some to the old jowettnet which is now housed on jowett.org. The only thing currently remaining on keithclements.co.uk is the search facility for the old jowettnet and very old jowetttalk.
