I got my DVD today!

Paul and the team, excellent job. Lots of hard work, quite a bit of fun no doubt. But excellent work. We are presented in a professional way and I'm pleased to be associated with it.

What we need are a few clips pulling together and a little film about the club and how it operates, the forum and some of the other activities. Then we have a great handout for the NEC in November. It is our 100th. If allowed I will help duplicate. I can print onto the DVD surface too. The DVD's cost about 10P each, a case the same and printing on the CD maybe the same again. 30p x 1000, plus the cost of videoing the Chairman and a few others about the club. It has to be worth it. Paul what do you say? Time is tight but I reckon it is do able. Have you seen? http://jowett.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1615

Alastair, firstly I have plenty more of the Rally DVD twin packs available at £12.00 + £1.00 p&p and for that you get the rally DVD and the specially filmed Proving a Classic, which presents, through the use of 6 restored Jowetts, The "CD" test route around the Yorkshire Dales.
Next, the only thing in either DVD that we have used with permission, is the BBC Look North Interview. The Northern section would have to sanction, but in principle snips from the rest could be used.
Maybe Keith Wear should be consulted. I notice that his film of the Saltair Rally is now available on the Yorkshire Film Archive on line.

I was rather hoping you might submit to interview as Chairman of Northern Section(and other Chairmen too) and maybe Roger and Malcolm as well, We should use the team who produced this DVD, ensuring equally as good quality as the DVD's but talking about why it would be a good idea for anyone even vaguely interested to join the Jowett Car club, also outlining the friendliness and some of the other benefits they would gain (spares, advice and encouragement).

I'm happy to be involved (I'm not pointing the finger and saying you do it) but feel we need to involve the professionals we have used. If I started to use my Camera for example there would be a significant drop in quality. I could edit what is on these DVD's but we want it to be the best it can be.

We don't want to miss the boat on a potential for publicising the club in this our centenary year, If we did it right we could hand these DVD's out at events for some years to come. It promotes us as up to date (and down in price), well OK not really, this was a Jowett advertising slogan for those not in the know. But it is an image to help rather than hinder when we seek new and younger members.

Members what do you think.

You can respond too Paul, I'm not trying to cut you out :D

Now I'm getting a bit worried because I haven't received mine yet! Are they being sent out in batches, Paul?

Received mine today - thanks Paul - and have just finished watching it. All I can say is WOW - what a production! I urge all who haven't yet ordered to do so; you will not be disappointed!
