Event 1/ Christmas:
In a few more hours the annual gathering together, (either physically, mentally or by electronic and other means) of most families and groups of friends will start to occur. Often at these events heartfelt hugs, love and even gifts will be exchanged and there'll be much feasting and jollity.
Event 2/ New Year
Following on a few days from the above there'll be many who'll be grouping together and celebrating the annual start of a new year . . . Incidentally, and in case you haven't caught up with the announcement, this coming new year has been officially named 2011!. At the very instant of the change over much blowing of whistles and the making of noise by any means is encouraged . . . . and for a few moments there'll be a great excuse for kissing of the opposite sex (and the same sex too in some instances!) . . . especially the pretty/handsome ones

All pretty standard stuff, I know, but lots of fun in spite of the traditions being old!
On a personal note, I'd like to wish all the readers of this forum (whether you contribute or not

Cheers.
Leo.
