Re: SECTION EVENTS FOR 2011
Updates to the SCOTTISH SECTION DIARY will appear from time to time and the first one is a date correction.
The talk to the Caithness Car Club should be SUNDAY 10th APRIL and not Sunday 12th April which is incorrect.
Thank You
Drummond

Re: SECTION EVENTS FOR 2011
Just back from the North of Scotland in the Jupiter. I gave a talk on " 100 Years of the Jowett " to the Caithness Vintage Car Club last Sunday. A good crowd, including 10 Jowett members, were in attendance at the Portland Arms Hotel, Lybster to hear all the Jowett story. I even got stopped in Inverness by someone who wanted to give me a Bradford engine. We had covered over 500 miles by the time we got back to Kirkliston.
This Sunday is our planned run to Dumfries & Galloway. We are meeting in the Tesco car park in Lockerbie at 11am on Sunday 17th April ( Drive it Day ). Looking forward to a good turn out.

Re: SECTION EVENTS FOR 2011
INVERNESS CLASSIC VEHICLE DAY
Saturday 14th May was a first for the Scottish Section as this was our first visit to this event. I have just completed a count of cars and members and was quite surprized at our totals. We managed four Jowetts and 17 members, seven from the North of Scotland and 10 from the central belt - a fantastic turnout and we can only say a very big thank you to all who made the effort to attend. We had members from Aviemore, Brora, Elgin, Fortrose, & Thurso in attendance at some point during the day. Now, our objective of this visit was to make contact with Jowett members from the area and we used the Inverness Classic Vehicle Day as a platform to achieve our aim. We realise that the area we were allocated within the town was adrift from the main areas of activity however we now have more knowledge of this event. I consider that we suceeded in our objective, however, if we continue with further gatherings we will use local knowledge to choose a meeting venue. It was really good to meet members and find out more about them and their Jowett Vehicles.
Please feel free to add your own comments about the day. It would be good to have feedback.
Many thanks to all

Re: SECTION EVENTS FOR 2011
This is a reminder to all members who use Jowett Talk that our Annual Barbeque takes place this weekend at Lynn & Martin's (I have taken address out as you may not want gatecrashers). Martin's telephone number is 01501 825977. A technical session on Javelin Brakes will preceed the ritual of enjoying the usual array of food. The afternoon kick's off around 1pm, however, just turn up when you can. This will be the christening of our new Event Shelter so whatever the weather it will be an enjoyable event.
So to recap SUNDAY 28th AUGUST 2011 at 1 O'CLOCK.
See you on Sunday
