Well spotted Peter - this is in Watford, so will get in touch with the seller to drop off a sellers pack with info about the club etc. If seller agrees, will have a look at the car while I'm there and report back on overall condition.

Hopefully a fairly easy restoration for someone - the doors are easy to get and not expensive, so as long as the chassis is as described and engine runs, it might be a fairly light restoration over the summer to get it back on the road, and can then be a rolling restoration.

I've had a response from the seller, and should be able to arrange to see the car some time in the next few days.

If anyone is bidding on the car or particularly interested, please ping me a PM so I can update you, as it will be tight for the auction end by the time we get to see it.

Otherwise will update on the thread. While I'm there I should be able to get chassis no etc confirmed for the register (unless it is already known to us?)

Update, I have now been contacted by the new owner of the car, and he is based in Lincolnshire.

I have passed on contact details for the East Anglian section secretary, club membership secretaries and also JCS as there were a few parts he was trying to source and I suggested a call to them may reveal if they have them available, but that they wouldn't be able to trade with non-members as far as I am aware.

A phone call well worth making to the seller, providing a contact number, resulted in a potential new member that otherwise may have taken a while to find the club, and as a result a car more likely to be back on the road soon. The power of the internet meaning we could contact the seller easily before the car was sold.
