I went along to the Sunday Open Day, put on for the general public as well as car buffs in general. There was reported to be in excess of 800 cars and 30,000 people in the centre of the horse racecourse. The report that was on National TV is shown here: http://youtu.be/oZjjxYXfknU NOTE: Jowett owners should avoid blinking at about 2 minutes 45 seconds through this video! My Jupiter JJ-1951 normally draws plenty of attention from the punters, but especially so when the engine room is exposed . . . then the cameras really come out! The TV crew did about a 30 second interview with me, but nearly all was consigned to the editing room floor. But I am to be seen in the red jersey in the 2 second flash they did use . . . . Not bad exposure of the Marque (even if the name wasn't mentioned), when one considers the number and quality of the vehicles that were there.
There was one group of interested folk who were particularly notable by their soft North American accents. They were Canadians and were taking a particular interest . . one couple especially . . . they knew of Jowett and had a friend who owned one in Canada, where they assured me they were very rare! Now, to show how small this world of ours is, he's on the committee of a Road Racing Club along with Robin Fairservice! His Name is Ken Finnigan of (Ken's Abington Research and Restoration), Robin. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of them.
I managed to catch up with Kevin Grieg and his family, resident's of Wanganui. Images of his fine Bradfords are to be found below. Robin Simpson had his Alfa Romeo Spyder parked two cars away from mine. There were some very amazing and interesting vehicles . . . British, European, Asian and American. I have further images but unfortunately I seem to be restricted to attaching just 3 pictures.

Cheers.
Leo.
