Javelin as a tow car

Hi,i hope you can help us out, we are thinking of buying a Javlin to tow our classic caravan, could you tell us what engine sizes the javlin comes in and do you think it would be up to the task of towing. We have seen a couple of cars on the internet, are any members selling any at present?. We look forward to your reply.

Hi Karl,
You can see some of the cars for sale on http://jowett.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=7 or more specifically http://jowett.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2395 which will be updated shortly for April.
Obviously it depends what you want to tow. I for many years towed a large folding 'Campavan' behind my Jupiter which has the same engine. This is a very torquey 1500cc which should give about 70bhp or up to 90 if it has a few mods.
Weight should be no problem (for a small caravan) as the Javelin is quite heavy and has a strong chassis; but of course you need to check for any deterioration on the one you buy.
The Javelin is spacious and can comfortably seat six .
Good hunting..
