Does anyone have any literature or diagrams etc of the Jowett Kestrel.
or does anyone own one that they could send me pictures of to help me correctly put this vehicle back together, as there is very little information available for this vehicle on the internet.
I bought this vehicle as a project off of Ebay. The previous owner had completely refurbed chassis and running gear, but had installed an A Series engine and gearbox.
I started this project by pulling the A Series engine and gearbox out. I purchased the correct 2 cylinder horizontally opposed engine from a Jowett car club member in Locherbie, and on the way home purchased the correct 4 speed gearbox from Ian Priestley in Bradford.
Engine, ancilliaries and gearbox are now fitted into the vehicle and barring a few parts for the brakes and several other parts that i ordered from Ian Priestley at Jowett Spares, I am well on the way to getting US4806 back on the road.
I have just got both rear doors back after being re ash framed, and I am in the process of fitting all panels, and hopefully US4806 will be treated to a total respray at the end of January, if all goes well.
If any member could help me with sourcing a few parts that I still require, I have 2 radiator cowlings that are in a terrible state, so if anyone knows the whereabouts of the correct radiator cowling to fit a 1934 Jowett Kestrel, I would be very interested and it would make my New Year.
Any information would be gratefully recieved from club members or owners of Jowett Kestrels.
Please call me on 07813980411
thank you, Ben

Hi Ben
My father and then subsequently me carried out huge amounts of work on this car. I may still have some bits and pieces around for it if you are interested.

Ben: -

Good work - keep it up!

I submitted my 1930 Long Four fabric saloon for MoT last week - SUCCESS! Nice to know I got most of the 'Repair' right!

I also took it for 'survey' to my chosen local upholsterer for an estimate on re-skinning. OK but he won't be able to start until early next year.

Meantime I hope to get to a few more local rallies, Hellingly Festival of Transport is next and then Goodwood Revival. Maidstone is a nice ride from Hellingly (North of Eastbourne) and a trip to the seaside could be included?

I am sure several Southern Section members will be very pleased to see you with (or without at least for now) the Kestrel. If you are not yet a member of 'The Club' then use this forum to ask about shows near you. There might be another Kestrel there - you never know!
