A chap I know in London who is 6' 8" tall is considering looking for a Jupiter! Will he fit in? He was OK in a Javelin in his student days!!

Re: Max Comfortable Height in a Jupe?
'Short' answer is no, especially with the hood up.
Obviously it depends on leg length and back height, legs may hit instrument panel and head the roof. But some big people do have Jups. Some have heightened the roof or just not had one, Others have smaller steering wheels. We also moved the seat back in the SA by an inch for Jack and you may be able to alter the rake of the seat with a mod to the hinges. Or you might be able to fit a rally seat with less padding, or drop the seat through the floor like on the Rochdale bodied Jup.

Re: Max Comfortable Height in a Jupe?
I think it depends on a few things - it would be possible, by making various modifications to an SC (i.e. removing or significantly reducing the size of the battery box) or by using a very low profile seat in either the SA or SC. But both assume very long legs and short torso.
Not sure how comfortable it might be, but if you can fit a really low profile seat mounted as far back as possible, it is vaguely feasible up to about 6'2" I reckon.
But frankly I can't see it working. I am 5'11" and the hood touches the top of my head on a standard but fairly newly stuffed seat. If he is 9" taller than me, he is going to be looking at fairly serious modification to make it work.
Why not look at a Javelin instead? He could always fit a sunroof with the £15K he's got left in his pocket...

Re: Max Comfortable Height in a Jupe?
The only answer is a moulded custom built seat which would give at least 3 inches in leg and back length. I have a rally seat which is similar and very comfortable. The curved shape would allow it to be sat much further back on the SA. An SC is limited by the petrol tank behind the driver but the SA has at least 6 inches of further legroom if you do not use the bench seat. When rallying the navigator's seat was so set back so that a full size ordnance survey map with "pottie" could be on the navvies lap. This seat was also lent back a bit for a better sleeping position! As I said not possible on the SC.
Chris Freudenburg who is not small had a heightened hard top made for his Jup.
My SA did have a roll bar fitted which had to be 5 cm above head height to meet Blue Book regs and so a custom hood was made to cover this for the winter rallies. However, you still need to negotiate getting in through the window aperture, unless you put the hood up after you get in! It is really amusing seeing people try to get in, is it leg first or head first?
