Worth checking, think the other Abbott for sale was a convertible, not coupe.

The other Abbott Jupiter sold in January was indeed a convertible, or Roadster. I understand from my dad that two Roadsters and two Coupes were originally made.
One Coupe got scrapped, the other is now for sale as we see.

Hi Chris,

VERY interested to see the Rawson bodied Jupiter for sale in Italy......Sadly, outside my price range at £59K!

Does anybody know how the car got there and how it was restored, as I would be very interested to know more about the car?

Very best wishes, Noel

The 1938 Jowett 8 848101 reg AJY509 is in the 2008 register as a "Special" which it appears to be . I was unable to attend the show but Charterhouse report it was sold for £1300, within estimate . The owner in 2008 is listed in the register . Lets hope the new owner is or will be a JCC member ! Bob

The Rawson Jupiter for sale in Rome at that very high price first broke cover at an Ally Pally auction in 1975 and went to a pub owner in Ruislip where I inspected it. After one intermediate owner it was bought by Alan Langley in 1987 who restored it or had it restored, and at JCC Melrose in 1990 it won the concours for special-bodied Jupiters. In 1999 it was sold to a dealer who sold it to a Greek tobacco milionaire and it went to Greece. In 2011 this man sold his collection and the Jupiter went from Thessalonika to a collector in Rome where as reported it is now for sale at £59K.
