You know all those chromed parts on a Jowett with pits in them. Well they are likely made of a zinc based metal often referred to as Mazak.
These parts are notoriously difficult to renovate.
If you want to learn how to do it successfully at home, this is the best description I have found.

If anyone knows of anyone who has done it (successfully) then please let me know.
Repairing, Mazak, pot metal whatever...

I arrived at the Caswell site from this plating barrel site. http://www.nulltime.com/zincplating/sho ... index.html
Good for doing those small parts.
Anyone tried it?
