Jowett stalwart in hospital

Post by Tony Fearn »

Bob Mercer, from Accrington in Lancashire has been a member of the Jowett Car Club Northern Section since its inauguration in 1962. In fact he was one of the original committee members that set up the Section.

He has been in hospital now for the last 5 weeks and is rather poorly. His wife Doris is alone in the family home being looked after by carers, as she herself isn't too good.

Bob is, as you may well imagine, a little bit down. He lives and breathes Jowetts, (only Javelins!!) and that's what we talk about when I visit him.

I wonder if any of the members reading this would consider sending Bob a card whilst he's still in hospital. It would buck him up no end. The address is:-

Robert Mercer
c/o Ward B18
The Royal Blackburn Hospital
Haslingden Road
Blackburn
Lancashire
BB2 3HH

Thanks,
Tony.
