Ardingly Show

Post by ian Howell »

I am hoping to give my rebuilt gearbox and oil relief valve a workout this weekend with runs to (and hopefully from!) the Ardingly Show.

I am 'booked in' for Saturday and Sunday but if either or both is/are wet then I may go in my 'modern' as the body is still lacking its waterproof skin.

Any other 'Takers'?

WoW! Quite a turnout - Six Javelins, one Jupiter and my Long Four (which I moved from 'Pre-War' to be closer to the 'youngsters') and great weather too!

Lots of interest from the public and a couple of offers of bits and pieces (If they can be found!).

Next up - Hellingly F o T' (Weather permitting).

See you there?

Hellingly F o T today (Saturday), and possibly tomorrow but probably not Monday as it looks like being wet.

I notice I got a brief mention in the Jowetteer in connection with John Champion's problem with the oil pipe on the way to the Ardingly rally. I spotted John and Linda in a layby just as he had replaced the pipe, but what he hadn't got was some spare oil! As it happened I had a spare pint in the Long Four so problem solved!

Even better, at the rally I noticed that someone had found a supply of new (but a bit battered) Esso Extra 20/50 in pint cans at £1 each. I think the Jowett contingent cleared the lot. BARGAIN!
