Bradford Truck Cab woodwork

Post by ajg1722 »

The project is beginning! I'm starting on the Bradford truck (actually a cut-down utility) I acquired many years ago. I'm going to rebuild it as a proper truck, so I need to recreate the wood frame. Has anyone in the UK got an original truck where I can take some measurements? Or has anyone any fragments of woodwork (I don't care how mankey) to use as patterns?
I'm travelling about a the moment, so best contact me by email - ajg1722@yahoo.de

More than welcome to take a look at my truck. Petrol tank is different but a van tank could I suppose be modified with cutting and welding.

The project to create a Bradford truck from almost nothing continues... But it's getting to the point where I need to get some more measurements, as some things in my heap of sketches and drawings are not quite adding up.. So...
Has anyone got an original Bradford truck I could visit next week-end (25th/26th), ideally midlands or north england? Please PM me if you think you can help.

To Richard Turner - have sent you a PM.

And to everyone, thanks for the help I've had so far,
Andrew

Gentlemen, I see someone has trod the path before me. I am fixed on the same mission, a truck cab from nothing. Does anyone have drawings/sketches that have dimensions please.
Compliments of the Season,

Alastair Gregg

Hi Alastair,

Yes I have been, over the last 3 years, been collecting sketches and measurements of the truck cab woodwork. What I have is now about 80% there, the only bit I am unsure of are the roof bows, which are different (like everything except the doors and the A-posts) to the van/utility.
My diagrams are a bit of a jumble, but I'm going to be in the UK between 21st and 27th this month, and will bring the lot with me, and maybe we can meet up. So please get in contact...
Regards,
Andrew
