If tha 'asn't set off yet, mek sure tha's getten a good map when tha comes up 'ere. If tha goes of 't beaten track be kerful! They eat missionaries in Cheshire. (allegedly!!!)

Safe journey Ken. Looking forward to seeing many friends again at the De Vere.

P.S. Just had a call from Bill Purves. He and Sandra are kipping on their boat at Lancaster tonight, so they've only another 150 miles to do.

Tony.

Home from the Rally

Post by Tony Fearn »

Hi Ken.

I suppose you set off for home rather early yesterday (Monday) morning after breakfast, so, because your Weasel was laden with ALL those trophies, I thought I'd better leave it until now (01.00 hours Tuesday) to hope you had an uneventful journey home.

It was great to see you again.

Regards,

Tony.

Hi Tony - Sorry I didn't see you before I left, it was great to see everyone again but alas, once again it was over all too soon! I had a very uneventful trip home and the hood stayed down all the way despite some showers around Gloucester. I got home at 8.00pm - thats 345 miles in 9.5 hours including stops, so not bad at all. Now already planning for Crieff and bringing the family this time - they're all very excited!

Glad you got home safely ken, as we passed you on the motorway and got further down we both thought bugger, at the weather, and you with your hood down.

Hi Alan, I think I must have just missed the worst of the weather, thank goodness, as the road was very wet for a few miles. After I left you at the service station, I was forced to take the wrong exit off the roundabout by an idiot in a transit who tried to cut me up, in case you thought "where the hell is he going?", but I did eventually get back on the M5!

I'm pleased the Rally had the desired effect, Alan - you've obviously got the 'bug'! Looking forward to seeing the car at Powderham if you are able to get it there.

This is just a short note to thank Dennis Mitchell and all his committee for giving us a very enjoyable Rally. The evening entertainment was just that, and we appreciated it.

Best of all, as we know, is the chance to meet up with old friends, and make some new ones.

This year, Hilary and I had only about 55 miles to do, but it'll be a different story in 2008.

Daresbury Rally

Post by Tony Fearn »

I've posted a new album of photographs from the Daresbury Rally on my spot in Jowett Gallery. Most of them are of people. I expect others have taken photos of the various Jowetts. Feel free to print what you wish for your own use or as a present to a fellow Jowetteer who isn't on the Gallery site.

Alan (Bartlett), the photos you asked for are in this sub album.

Tony.
