Racing Jupiter Updates
Dear All
We manged to take our Jup to a track day at Goodwood on the 16th March just as the lock down was introduced. This was our first outing since the engine had been tuned in Stourbridge. Julian Crossley (of racing Javelin fame) has agreed to co-drive with us at Classic Le Mans and this was his first drive of the car. We were timing "unoffically" and by the end of the day Julian was lapping at around 1.51 and Goodwood circuit is 2.367 miles long. When he raced at the Goodwood Revival last year (with Christian Horner as his co-driver) he was getting around 1.45 so we were absolutely delighted!
There's been no official notification of a change of date for Classic Le Mans as yet but proper Le Mans has been pushed back to September and I can only assume the Classic will follow suit. No sign of any racing for the forseesable future which is disappointing but our new gearbox will hopefully make an appearance at some stage which Julian thinks would get us into the 1.48s for Goodwood.
Assuming that Classic Le Mans does go ahead then at some stage we will hopefully ask Keith C to have a good look over the car and we can also make a plan as to what spares we need to take with us. Richard Gane will also be competing so we plan to collaborate as Team Javelin with Keith supporting both cars!

Re: Racing Jupiter Updates
I look forward to it, but may be a while.
Do not break the engine in the meantime!
It might actually pay to have a spare engine even if it is not top spec, if the regs allow.

As luck would have it we do have a spare engine although we've never tried to start it. I do turn it over by hand occasionally to stop it seizing and it turns over fine. It looks complete. Maybe we'll bring that over for you to look at as well!

Re: Racing Jupiter Updates
Just heard that CLM has now been pushed back a year to 1-4 July 2021.
I hope that still works for you keith?
The first British Lions tour game is July 3 2021 bu the first test isn't until 24th July so should still be able to get to South Africa for most of the Lions tour!

Re: Racing Jupiter Updates
LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER CLAIM ON THE TRAVEL INSURANCE THEN! Unless the virus has died down enough for a few nights in a chateau.
Not booked the Lions Tour yet but will give priority to LeMans, I suppose I could drive to South Africa in the Jup, after all it has been in the Sahara so half way there!
